Residents honored with awards

Hagerstown's mayor and City Council will announce the 1999 Citizen/Corporate Award winners at their work session today.

The 1999 award winners are:

* Marguerite Doleman - Citizen Award.

* Carl W. Disque - Volunteer Award.

* Pamela K. Reed - Small Business Award.

* Home Federal Savings Bank - Corporate Award.

* 100-102 E. Baltimore St. - Renovation Project Award (owned by Ken Graber, renovated by Larry Miller).

* Richard McCleary - Corporate Award.

* Hagerstown Fire Police Unit - Nonprofit Award.

"The city began the tradition of the Citizen/Corporate Awards last year in order to build community pride and to make the area residents aware of the excellent volunteer work being done by citizens and the business community," said Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II. "This year's winners have done extraordinary work and have assisted the City of Hagerstown in educating the public, creating events, assisting with economic development and saving taxpayer dollars."


The awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. The public is invited to attend, and the program will be shown live on the Government Channel, Channel 6, by Antietam Cable Television.
