Suns don't get hits, but still get victory

July 09, 1999

SALISBURY, Md. - The Hagerstown Suns took everything they were given Thursday to complete a two-game sweep of Delmarva.

The Suns used walks, an error and a sacrifice fly to manufacture three runs in a 4-1 victory.

Hagerstown (7-7, 55-30) used three first-inning walks off starter Ricky Casteel and parlayed them into a quick 2-0 lead to give Scott Cassidy all the support he needed.

Cassidy (9-4) allowed three hits and three walks through six innings while striking out nine, including the final four batters he faced. Orlando Woodards and Jarrod Kingrey combined to close out the game, allowing Delmarva's only run in the eighth.

With one out in the first, Felipe Lopez reached on an error, Ryan Fleming walked and Matt Logan singled to load the bases. Tyler Thompson brought home the first run with a sacrifice fly and walks to Joe Dusan and Jesse Zepeda scored the second run.
