There are some remaining slots for an Aug. 14 bus trip to Dorney Park. Hagerstown youngsters may sign up now.
More donations are needed to make this year's trip a success, said Clara Broadus of Hagerstown, one of the organizers of the second annual For Our Kids Sake trip.
"We want to make sure that all the kids who want to go can go," Broadus said.
She is urging businesses, clubs and individuals to contribute what they can so no child will be turned away.
A bank account at Hagerstown Trust Co. has been set up in the name, For Our Kids Sake, Broadus said. The account number is 14151-8. Contributions can be made at any Hagerstown Trust branch.
Last year, three busloads of children made a similar trip to Paramount King's Dominion in Richmond, Va.
"This year we chose Dorney because it's closer and less expensive," Broadus said.
Fund-raisers have been held but donations are the main support of the trip. Organizers hope this year to take four busloads to the Allentown, Pa., attraction.
