Hagerstown PONY League

Troopers 11, Elks 1: Cody Hanes, Gerry Spessard and Bryan Reeder all had two hits and two RBIs to lead Troopers. Ben Mertz hit a two-run homer, while Phil Saloom and Phil Taylor had two hits. T.J. Hose had two hits for Elks.

Jeter Paving 4, UAW 1: Aaron Davis pitched a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts and Grayson Bust had two hits for Jeter Paving.

Hagerstown Floors 12, Firefighters 11: Matt Mastiano had two hits to lead Hagerstown Floors. Josh Norris, Adam Thomas and Brad Himeain all had two hits, while Danny Wiles drove in three runs for Firefighters.


Washington Co. Big League

Williamsport 15, South County 8: Charles Dodson, James Palmer and Earl Pereschuk all had two hits for Williamsport. Doug Reel had two hits for South County.

Maugansville 11, Clear Spring 1: Jack Beam threw a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Maugansville. Justin Shafer had three hits, Pat Myers had two hits and Nathan Butts hit a three-run homer.


Hub City/Pinesburg Softball

Freddie's/Corner Pub 13, J&W Mechanical 8: Heath Crone, Tod Mobley and Jason Draper each had three hits, and Crone had two homers for Freddie's.

Hagerstown Billiards/Adam's Pizza 19, Firestone 8: Scott Remsburg had four hits, including two homers, to lead Hagerstown Billiards. Mike Green had four hits, including a homer, Jeff Hetzer had three hits, including two homers, Leon Allen had three hits, while Brian Koontz, Donnie Blickenstaff, Terry Malloy and Johnny Parrot each had two hits. Glenn Muse and Travis Twigg had two hits for Firestone.

Talley Metals 14, Moose 7: Ronnie Shoemaker had three hits, including two homers, to lead Talley Metals. Rod Beard also homered.

Lenox 25, Osbourn/Wilburt 14: Ira Heller and Mike Mazingo had five hits, while Nomar Micheals and Mike Ward had four hits for Lenox.


Tickets available for srimmage

The Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers will play an exhibition game on Aug. 7 at Frostburg State University's Bobcat Stadium.

Gates will open at 9 a.m., with warm ups beginning at 11 a.m. and the scrimmage starting at noon. Tickets are $6.50 for both bleacher and lawn seats. Children under age 2 will be admitted free.

Tickets can be ordered by credit card by calling the FSU bookstore at 301-687-7044. Tickets can also be purchased at The Book Center in Cumberland or at K-Mart Country Club Mall in LaVale.
