Police say crack found in search

June 28, 1999

Four half dollar-size pieces of crack and a dozen baggies of suspected marijuana were found in a condom hidden in the underwear of a teenage girl stopped for speeding Friday morning, Hagerstown City Police said.

Stacey Anita Freeman, 19, of 202 Jonathan St., was charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of both illegal drugs, according to Hagerstown City Police.

Capt. Robert Hart, acting police chief, said a woman was driving a rental car in the 200 block of Jonathan Street at 6:37 a.m. when she was stopped for speeding.

After she was stopped, police found she was driving with a suspended license and was in violation of a rental agreement, police said.

A search turned up the drugs in her underwear, Hart said.

In addition to the four large pieces of crack, two smaller pieces were found. The marijuana was packaged in 8 to 10 packets, police said.

Freeman was ordered held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.
