Cassidy leads Suns

June 27, 1999

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Scott Cassidy went 8 1/3 innings, holding down the Charleston Alley Cats with a season-high 10 strikeouts to lead the Hagerstown Suns to a 7-4 victory Sunday, Cassidy's fourth straight victory.

The Suns (50-25, 2-2) got three hits each from their 1-2 hitters, Jorge Nunez and Felipe Lopez, and they led the rally that put the Suns ahead to stay.

In the sixth, Nunez's speed was the key. He singled, and Lopez followed with a single to center. The ball was misplayed by Charleston's Jose Tavares, and Nunez raced all the way around for a 3-2 lead. They also had back-to-back doubles in the ninth to cap the Suns' scoring. Joe Dusan had his first homer in the second.
