Antietam Sparkle set for July 3

Maryland Symphony Orchestra will host the fifth annual Antietam Sparkle Friday, July 2, to raise money for MSO at Antietam, which will be Saturday, July 3.

The progressive dinner will begin at Bowman-Byron Fine Arts Center at St. James School, where participants pick up their envelopes to see where they will be dining.

Cocktails and drinks will be served at St. James School.

Each guest pays $40 to dine at the home of an MSO board or guild member.

There are 10 host homes.

At St. James School, guests will receive directions to a host's home.

The small groups will meet again at The Women's Club, 31 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown, for assorted desserts.

There will be a raffle. Winners receive one of three VIP parking spaces at the battlefield provided by the MSO. Other raffle items include gifts from Allegheny Power, The Book Store, etc., Potomac Wine & Spirits, The Maples Gourmet Center, the MSO Symphony Store and MSO board member Sam Reel.

Last year, Sparkle netted more than $6,000.
