Bradshaw wins junior golf qualifier

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - David Bradshaw defeated Will O'Brien on the second hole of a playoff to win the age 16-18 division of the first Tri-State Junior Golf Association tournament, played Monday at Cress Creek Golf Course.

Bradshaw and O'Brien each shot a 77 to force the playoff. Josh Spreng finished third with a 79.

The tournament, sponsored by radio stations WYII, WEPM and WKMZ, drew 77 players and is the first of four area qualifying tournaments leading to the Tournament of Champions on Aug. 23 at Beaver Creek Country Club. The tournaments are sanctioned by the Dick Kelly Memorial Foundation.

Ryan Moul carded a 80 to defeat Brandon Bowers by two strokes in the 14-15 division while Nick Mayer finished third with an 83.

Seth Moul shot 83 to win the age 12-13 division. Bobby Jones shot 88 while Trevor Hedges finished third with a 93.

The next tournament will be Monday at Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown.
