Crime Solvers putting up signs around city

June 19, 1999

Signs, signs, everywhere signs. At least that's Crime Solvers' President Ron Stansbury's goal.

More than 200 Crime Solvers informational signs have been purchased and will be affixed under the Drug Free School Zone signs already in place around all schools in Hagerstown.

One went up Friday in front of Hagerstown's North Street School.

"We're trying to help the police because they can't be everywhere," Stansbury said.

Crime Solvers has contacted all agencies that deal with crime prevention so they can work together, Stansbury said.

Visibility is the key to cutting crime, and Crime Solvers is trying to boost public awareness in the community including in the schools and at Children's Village of Washington County.

People can get rewards for giving information anonymously on crimes and who committed them.

The 24-hour Crime Solvers number is 301-733-4141.
