City Police charge 6 men in prostitution sting

Hagerstown City Police charged six men in a two-day "reverse" prostitution sting.

Charles Henry Harris, 30, of 1085 Lincoln Way West in Chambersburg, Pa., was charged with solicitation of prostitution on Saturday evening, said Sgt. John Ryder, who heads the police department's street crimes unit.

Harris also was charged with driving on a suspended license and driving an unregistered vehicle, Ryder said. He is awaiting an appearance before a District Court commissioner.

The following were charged with solicitation of prostitution on Friday night or Saturday morning:

- David Eugene Butler, 35, of 554 Frederick St. in Hagerstown.

- Preston Wayne White, 47, of 445 Oak Hill Ave. in Hagerstown. White also was charged with possession of marijuana, police said.


- Michael Owen Miller, 43, of 621 W. Franklin St. in Hagerstown.

- Wayne Eugene Jordan, 43, of 2156 Crystal Falls Road in Hagerstown.

- Glenn Ray Stottlemyer, 62, of 21445 Greenbrier Road near Boonsboro.

They were all released on their own recognizance, Ryder said.

Police also made one drug arrested during the operation. Kevin Lee Sease, 35, of 19807 Evelyn Ave. in Hagerstown was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Ryder said.
