HCC graduates make plans

About half of this year's Hagerstown Community College graduates are transferring to four-year colleges or universities in pursuit of a bachelor's degree, according to an HCC press release.

Shepherd College was the top transfer choice among the 337, with 37 planning to attend the Shepherdstown, W.Va., school.

Frostburg State University attracted 31 HCC alumni and the University of Maryland drew 17.

Towson University and Shippensburg University each enrolled 10 former HCC students and five plan to attend Hood College.

Other destinations include Penn State University, Salisbury State University, Shenandoah University, Wilson College, Louisiana State University and Mount St. Mary's College.

In a survey of the remaining members of the 1999 class, 44 had no further educational plans, 92 were unsure of their educational plans and 52 were already employed.
