A water main break in the 10000 block of Sharpsburg Pike sent Hagerstown Water Department workers to the scene at 4 a.m. Wednesday.

A call to the water department turned up no information about the scope or cause of the break, how many customers were affected or for how long.




Maryland State Police investigated two burglaries and a theft Tuesday.

* Someone gained entry to a home at 11727 Robinwood Drive through a pet door and stole unidentified property.

* Cash and a credit card were taken from a home at 11616 Lappans Road in Boonsboro after entry was gained by breaking glass in a door.

* At the Mason-Dixon Dragway at 21344 National Pike, two golf carts valued at $3,500 were taken.




Washington County Sheriff's deputies responded to a breaking and entering Tuesday at 20313 Youngstoun Court, Apt. 2507, for damage to a door totaling $300.
