John McCukser

GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - John McCusker, 83, of Gerrardstown, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Dec. 30, 1915, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Arena Bell McCusker.

He retired from the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the 1503rd Army Air Forces Base Unit.

He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hancock.

He is survived by two sisters, Catherine Hull of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Mary Plessinger of Achilles, Va.; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis William McCusker and George McCusker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at noon at St. Peter's Catholic Church, East High Street, Hancock. The Rev. George W. Glick will be celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military services by Tri-State Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. The funeral home will be open Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.

V. Ruth Toms

FOXVILLE, Md. - V. Ruth "Pete" Toms, 90, of Foxville Road, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Reeder's Memorial Home, Boonsboro.

Born Sept. 2, 1908, in Foxville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Smith Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clyde Toms, in 1977.

She was a member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Foxville.

She is survived by a daughter, Caroline C. McAfee of Foxville; two sons, Clyde R. "Tink" Toms and Irving A. "Bob" Toms, both of Foxville; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Gaver, Maude Smith and Hattie Lewis.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, Foxville. The Rev. William C. Kercheval will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Bethel Cemetery, Foxville.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Sandra G. Stonerock

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Sandra Gail Woods Stonerock, 40, of Springfield, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at St. John's Care Center, Springfield.

She was the daughter of Marion "Woody" Woods of Hillsboro, Ohio, and formerly of Hagerstown and the late Wilma Sue Lucente.

She attended Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, Ohio; and achieved a GED through Wright State University.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a daughter, Jessica Allen; her stepmother, Henrietta "Hank" Woods of Hillsboro; her stepfather, John T. Lucente of Beavercreek, Ohio; two sisters, Rose Michael of Shippensburg, Pa., and Kathy Bennett; three brothers, Ron Parman, Ted Parman and John A. Lucente; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Services will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Harris Funeral Home, 49 Linden Ave., Springfield. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.

Natalie C. Arrivillaga

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Natalie C. Wolf Arrivillaga, 20, of Warfordsburg, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, in Buck Valley, Pa., as a result of an auto accident.

Born Aug. 31, 1978, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Bernard W. and Carol B. Blakeslee Wolf of Warfordsburg.

She was a 1997 graduate of Southern Fulton High School in Warfordsburg, where she was a member of the Elementary, Junior and Senior High School Bands; High School Chorus; and Art Club.

She was employed as a sales consultant for Massey Auto Group in Hagerstown.

She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hancock.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Virginia Kathleen Arrivillaga, at home; two brothers, David B. Wolf and Erie W. Wolf, both at home; paternal grandparents, William C. and Myrtle E. Wolf of Wauchula, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Cameron Blakeslee of Corry, Pa.; and maternal great-grandmother, Maude E. Tolan of Camp Hill, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Geraldine T. Brakeslee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, East High Street, Hancock. The Rev. George W. Glick will be celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with rosary recitation at 8 p.m., at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The funeral home will be open from noon to 9 p.m.

Edgar W. Smith Jr.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Dr. Edgar Warren Smith Jr., 79, of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Albuquerque.

Born July 4, 1919, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Edgar Warren and Anna Wagner Smith Sr.
