Police identify body of man found in burning car

May 14, 1999

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - A body found in a burning car here Wednesday appears to be that of Charles C. Flint, who lived in Morgan Village where the blaze occurred, said Morgan County Coroner Chuck Lopp.

The cause of Flint's death was toxic smoke inhalation, Lopp said.

It is unclear what started the fire, or why Flint, 44, was unable to get out of the car, Lopp said. There are several coniditons to consider, including the fact that Flint was believed to be a diabetic, Lopp said.

It is possible that Flint was in insulin shock after the fire started and was unable to get out of the car, Lopp said.

Lopp and the state fire marshal's office do not suspect foul play.

Morgan Village mobile home park is on W.Va. 9 just west of the Berkeley County border.
