New director takes over Greencastle-Antrim Chamber

May 10, 1999|By RICHARD F. BELISLE, Waynesboro

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dana M. Given on Monday became the third executive director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce in the last 13 months.

Given, 33, worked in the marketing and public relations office at Menno Haven Inc., for the last 5 1/2 years. Menno Haven is a continuing care retirement community in Chambersburg, Pa.

Given replaces Jeannie L. Bryan in the Chamber post. Bryan left the job April 1 after a little less than a year of service. Bryan replaced Lori Coover, who resigned in March 1998.

Given stands to have things a little more difficult than her two predecessors. The Chamber's board of directors, in a cost-cutting move, eliminated the full-time secretary in the office at 217 East Baltimore St. and replaced the position with volunteers.

The primary duty of the office is to serve the Chamber's 300-plus members as well as the town's visitor center, Given said, adding volunteers are needed.
