Benham-Abdullah

Elizabeth Anne Benham and Neal David Abdullah wish to announce their engagement.

Miss Benham is the daughter of Nancy Benham of Denver and Dr. Joseph Benham of Franklin, Ind. She is a graduate of Ball State University Teachers College with a degree in elementary education. She is employed with Zionsville Public School System.

Dr. Abdullah is the son of Dr. and Mrs. A.F. Abdullah of Hagerstown. He is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, University of Pennsylvania and Vanderbilt School of Medicine. He has completed his residency in radiology at Indiana University Medical Center and has accepted a position with Southern Indiana Radiological Associates in Bloomington, Ind.

A Nov. 13 wedding is planned in Indianapolis.

Boggs-Slonaker

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Boggs Sr. of Hagerstown wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Lynn Boggs, to Jay Slonaker II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slonaker of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Anita Hess of Inwood, W.Va.

Brantner-Miller

Floyd and Lois Brantner of Waterfall, Pa., wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Michelle Brantner, to Barry Clinton Miller, son of John C. and Alice Miller of Clear Spring.

Ms. Brantner is a 1984 graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School and a graduate of Huntingdon County Area Vo-Tech School for Cosmetology. She is employed at Waring Products in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Mr. Miller is a 1990 graduate of Clear Spring High School and Washington County Career Studies Center, specializing in machine trades. He is employed by Waring Products as a CNC programmer and machine specialist.

A fall wedding is being planned.

Fotta-Kershner

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fotta of Fairplay wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Michele Theresa Fotta, to James Frederick Kershner, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Kershner of Funkstown.

Miss Fotta is a 1995 graduate of Williamsport High School and is a nursing student at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va. She is employed by Younger Toyota in Hagerstown.

Mr. Kershner is a 1988 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He is employed by Home Construction Corp. on Dual Highway in Hagerstown.

A September 2000 wedding is being planned.

Hamilton-Bryan

Joe and Mary Hamilton of Hagerstown wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Holly Hamilton, to Michael "Chris" Bryan, son of Terry and Kim Bryan of Greencastle, Pa.

Miss Hamilton is a 1995 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, a 1998 graduate of Hagerstown Community College and attends Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va., majoring in psychology. She is employed by Ehrlich in Hagerstown as a consumer service representative.

Mr. Bryan is a 1996 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Area Senior High School. He attends the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.

A May 25, 2000, wedding will take place at the Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis.

Martin-Wiles

Becky Martin and Kenneth Wiles wish to announce their engagement.

Miss Martin is the daughter of Gary and Rose Martin of Waynesboro, Pa. She is a 1995 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and attends Hagerstown Community College. She is employed by First Data Merchant Services in Hagerstown.

Mr. Wiles is the son of Kenneth and Donna Wiles of Smithsburg. He is a 1994 graduate of Smithsburg High School. He is employed by Dan's Autobody in Frederick, Md.

Mertz-Broadwater

Ronald and Mary Mertz of Hagerstown wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Beth Mertz, to Jason Harold Broadwater, son of William and Janet Broadwater of Vienna, W.Va.

Ms. Mertz is a 1997 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and attends Hagerstown Community College, majoring in nursing. She is employed as a secretary/assistant at Hagerstown Community College.

Mr. Broadwater is a 1997 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He attends the Associated Builders and Contractors program, studying to become an electrician. He is employed as an electrician apprentice with Ellsworth Electric in Hagerstown.

A Jan. 8, 2000, wedding is planned.

Saunders-Showe

Mr. and Mrs. George Harrell of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Lynn Saunders, to Michael Lynn Alger, son of Betsy Showe of Funkstown.
