Trial of accused poisoner continued

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The case of an Orrstown, Pa., woman charged with twice poisoning her husband had her case continued to the July trial term, according to court records.

Linda Reasner, 54, of 12688 Cumberland Highway, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police with two counts each of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, James Reasner, 54, was twice admitted to Chambersburg Hospital with polyethylene glycol poisoning. The chemical is an ingredient of automobile antifreeze, the affidavit said.

James Reasner was hospitalized on Aug. 21, 1997, and again on Sept. 23, 1998, according to police records. The affidavit said the chemical was mixed with tea and he suffered kidney damage in both cases.

Linda Reasner is being held in Franklin County Prison.
