Where to send donations for refugees

Several Tri-State area agencies are collecting money and one is collecting clothes for ethnic Albanian refugees fleeing Kosovo.

Checks can be written to the American Red Cross or Salvation Army. "Kosovo" should be written in the memo portion of the check to ensure the funds are used to aid the refugees.

- The Charles Town, W.Va., chapter of the Red Cross asks donors to make checks payable to American Red Cross International Response Fund and mail them to American Red Cross International Response Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.

Clothes for refugees can be dropped off at the Adventist Community Services Center at 27 W. Franklin St. in Hagerstown between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays or call 301-739-3854 for an appointment.
