Work to interrupt traffic

April 16, 1999

Work will interrupt traffic on several streets in Hagerstown today and on Monday, according to the city's Engineering Department.

New traffic signal construction will close North Potomac Street to through traffic at North Street today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A detour will be posted and local access will be maintained.

On Monday starting at 7 a.m., Columbia Gas will replace a cracked gas line and restore pavement on South Burhans Boulevard between Wesel Boulevard and Chase Street. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained, but the area could be closed to through traffic for short periods. If a street closure is required a detour would be posted for Clair Street and Ridge Avenue.

The Engineering Department advises motorists to use alternate routes on Monday and Tuesday when possible.

In both cases, work will proceed if weather permits.
