L. Joene Herring

L. Joene Herring, 79, of 11331 Youngstoun Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 31, 1919, in Thornton, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Lela Logan Bassett.

She retired in 1981 from Rosen's Department Store after 20 years of service.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Carla A. Tabler of Hagerstown; one sister, Mildred Heltzel of Frankfurt, Ky.; one brother, Logan Bassett of Kaufman, Texas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Aubrey N. Herring, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Eddie Blackmon will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

George Dunn II

INWOOD, W.Va. - George "Skip" Dunn III, 51, of Inwood, died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at his home.

Born March 4, 1948, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of George and Clara Wise Dunn of Martinsburg.

He was employed by the City of Martinsburg Water Department.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, April L. Bain of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Valorie L. Dunn of Inwood; three sisters, Carol A. Tabler, Lois R. Miller and Crystal R. Miller, all of Martinsburg; one brother, James D. Weiss-Dunn of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger L. Dunn.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. R. Shawn Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Paul W. Rosenberry

QUINCY, Pa. - Paul W. Rosenberry, 83, formerly of Etter Road, Chambersburg, Pa., died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy.

Born Nov. 7, 1915, in Harrisburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Jesse and Margaret Fogal Rosenberry.

His wife, Evelyn M. Peters Rosenberry, died in 1994.

He retired in 1979 from the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg, as a carpenter after 27 years. He also did some farming.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.

He was a former member of Eagles, Waynesboro, Pa.

He is survived by one daughter, Joanne Simpson of Camp Hill, Pa.; two sons, Harold P. Rosenberry of Chambersburg and Joseph David Rosenberry of Houston; one brother, retired Lt.Col. Wayne Rosenberry of Newville, Pa.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel R. Lawler will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg.

Mildred I. Lewis

BOONSBORO - Mildred Inena Lewis, 84, of 8507 Mapleville Road, and formerly of Thurmont, Md., died Friday, April 10, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 13, 1914, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Nellie Willard Smith.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Lewis, and by her second husband, Gaither Lewis.

She was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church, Thurmont.

She is survived by two daughters, Ada Juette Keedy of Hagerstown and Christine M. Henry of Gettysburg, Pa.; two sons, William H. Lewis of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Pierce N. Lewis of West Virginia; two sisters, Inez Winfield of Smithsburg and Elizabeth Linton of Hagerstown; one brother, Kennard Smith of Highfield, Md.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Schue and Ruth Stottlemyer and two brothers, Caramel Smith and Donald Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. James Coblentz will officiate. Burial will be in Grossnickle Brethren Cemetery, Myersville, Md.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Baptist Church, Thurmont, MD 21788 or to the charity of your choice.

Richard L. Marshall

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Richard L. Marshall, 51, of 5894 Cumberland Highway, died Friday, April 9, 1999, at his home.

Born May 7, 1947, in Spangler, Pa., he was the son of Frank and Lois Farabauga Marshall of Spangler.

He was a 1965 graduate from Bishop Carroll High School, Ebensburg, Pa.

He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, as a computer specialist.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army

He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Shippensburg, Pa.
