MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Hedgesville man was freed on $2,500 bond after police said he used his truck to push a van up an embankment, causing the van to flip over last month.
Michael Wayne Besaw, 23, was charged with attempted unlawful malicious wounding in Berkeley County Magistrate Court Monday after a March 27 incident on Butts Mill Road near Baxter Road, according to court records.
West Virginia State Police responding to a traffic accident found Floyd Riggleman's 1991 Plymouth Caravan overturned off Butts Mill Road, police said.
Riggleman told police he had been driving down the road when a vehicle behind him began flashing its headlights.
After Riggleman pulled onto the road shoulder, police said the white Chevy pickup that had been flashing its lights struck Riggleman's van from behind and pushed it about 75 feet, causing it to overturn.
