April 01, 1999

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a man wanted in Wednesday's shooting of a Hagerstown man at a used car lot in Martinsburg, police said.

William Claybourne was shot once through the finger during an argument with another man at D M Auto Sales on North Queen Street in Martinsburg, according to West Virginia State Police.

Calybourne's girlfriend drove him to the state police detachment in Martinsburg following the 1:30 p.m. shooting. He was taken to Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, police said.

He was treated and released for a bullet wound to his right index finger where a bullet from a .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol passed through the top and bottom of his finger.
