Three mopeds were stolen from a garage in the 500 block of Hammond Street on Sunday, according to Hagerstown City Police.

The bikes are: a red-colored Trac, valued at $250: a blue Safari model valued at $300; and a black Franco valued at $500.




Playland, a Pennsylvania Avenue recreational center, was vandalized Monday evening, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The door was damaged, deputies said. The incident took place around 8 p.m.




HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Firefighters were still on the scene of a mountain fire late Monday night off Hostler Road, according to a Blue Ridge Fire Company report.

The fire was called in at 3:55 p.m., according to the report. Fire companies from Jefferson County, W.Va., Frederick County, Md., and Loudoun and Clarke counties in Virginia were assisting, along with a Maryland State Police helicopter.

Firefighters remained on the scene until about 1 a.m. today, according to Jefferson County fire and rescue officials.
