Council backs sale of lot

March 24, 1999

The sale of a lot in the city's business park to Fire-X Sales & Service Co., which services and sells fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems, for $64,960 was unanimously approved by Hagerstown City Council members on Tuesday.

The company plans to move out of its current facility at 17227 Virginia Ave. and move into the Hagerstown Business Park off Sherman Avenue and Burhans Boulevard, Fire-X President Carroll Wollard said.

The company has about 23 employees, city Economic Development Coordinator Debbie Everhart said.

There are 17 lots in the business park, which opened in 1988. This is the 13th lot to be sold, Everhart said.
