Michael-Wright

Mr. and Mrs. Gary D. Michael wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon "Bitsy" Michael, to Timothy James Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Wright of Gerrardstown, W.Va.

Ms. Michael is a 1986 graduate of Martinsburg High School, a 1991 graduate of Shepherd College with a degree in education and has a master's degree in education from West Virginia University. She is a second grade teacher at Bedington Elementary School in Berkeley County, W.Va.

Mr. Wright is a 1985 graduate of Musselman High School. He holds certificates of excellence in the area of welding. He is self-employed at Tim Wright's Welding.

Walker-Kennedy

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth W. Walker of Hagerstown wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Kay Walker, to Eric Steven Kennedy, son of Karen Munday of Port Orange, Fla., and Richard Kennedy of Waynesboro, Pa.

Ms. Walker is a 1992 graduate of St. James School and a 1996 graduate of Sweet Briar College in Virginia with a bachelor of arts degree in government. She will graduate in May from University of Maryland School of Law.

Mr. Kennedy is a 1990 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and a 1994 graduate of Fairmont State University in West Virginia with a bachelor of arts degree in business. He is a golf professional competing in several professional golf tours.

A fall 2000 wedding is being planned.

Patrey-Sneckenberger

Mr. and Mrs. William Patrey of Boonsboro wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Patrey, to Richard William Sneckenberger Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sneckenberger Sr. of Hagerstown.

Ms. Patrey is a 1992 graduate of Boonsboro High School, a 1996 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College with a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and chemistry and is completing her master of science degree in biomedical science at Hood College. She is employed by United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick as a research technician in the department of viral therapeutics.

Mr. Sneckenberger is a 1985 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and Washington County Career Studies Center. He is employed by Equipment Development Co. in Frederick, Md., as the paint department foreman. He also is the volunteer major/senior head coach at Dual Lanes Saturday morning youth bowling league.

A May 27, 2000 wedding is planned.

Selders-Hallenbeck

Jodi Lynne Selders and Eric George Hallenbeck wish to announce their engagement.

Ms. Selders is the daughter of Jack and Sally Keim of Terra Alta, W.Va., and JoAnne and Al Dillsworth of Oakland, Md. She is a 1990 graduate of East Preston Senior High School. She is employed by Regina Hamm CPA in Frostburg, Md., and is enrolled in the Boyd School of Travel of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Hallenbeck is the son of Susan and Buzz Hooker of Hagerstown and David and Cathy Hallenbeck of Greencastle, Pa. He is a 1990 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a 1997 graduate of Frostburg State University in Frostburg with a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education. He is employed by Frostburg State University as the assistant varsity baseball coach and also is employed by Unos Restaurant in Deep Creek, Md.

A June 12 wedding is planned.

Gatz-Hawbecker

Carrie Gatz and Steven Hawbecker wish to announce their engagement.

Ms. Gatz is the daughter of Allen and Sharon Gatz of Butler, Pa. She is a 1989 graduate of Butler High School and a 1995 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics education. She is employed by Washington County Board of Education as a mathematics teacher at South Hagerstown High School.

Mr. Hawbecker is a 1985 graduate of Clear Spring High School, a 1987 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College with an associate's degree in engineering and a 1989 graduate of University of Maryland, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is a mechanical engineer with the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

An Aug. 12, 2000, wedding is planned.

Turner-Lescalleet

Patricia Turner of Middletown, Md. and William Turner of Baltimore wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Turner of Frederick, Md., to Gregory A. Lescalleet of Falling Waters, W.Va., son of Nancy and Rick Burger of Falling Waters and the late Allen Lescalleet.

Miss Turner is a graduate of Middletown High School. She is employed by Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Lescalleet is a graduate of Hedgesville High School. He is employed by Hughes Network Systems in Gaithersburg, Md.
