Man found guilty of assault

March 12, 1999

A Hagerstown man charged with rape was found guilty of second-degree assault Friday by a Washington County Circuit Court jury.

Clifford Raymon Bosley Jr., 27, formerly of the 200 block of South Prospect Street, was acquitted of second-degree rape and a second-degree sex offense, according to court records.

Bosley, who was indicted last June in the Jan. 25, 1998, attack, will remain free on bond pending sentencing. The maximum penalty for second-degree assault is 10 years in prison.

The victim, 19 at the time of the incident, told Maryland State Police in Frederick, Md., on Jan. 25 that she had been raped earlier that day after a party at a Boonsboro-area home.
