"I would like to congratulate Toni Rickard as the new Miss Washington County. However, I question how she was eligible to run for that title again, after holding it just two years ago. I know there were two previous young ladies who won twice, but I believe that was because one was actually Miss Hagerstown and one was Miss Washington County after the pageant was restructured in 1979. Could someone please call in and clarify this ruling?"

"Morning Mail Call. I just saw a new promotion for Maryland tourism. We're trying to draw people into our state. Maybe they could take some pointers from the drug dealers. I see they are very successful in drawing people to the small community of Hagerstown from New York City. Maybe we could learn how they promote their merchandise."

"Hello, Mail Call. This is in regards to Easter Sunday on April 4. If The Herald-Mail finds it absolutely necessary to print a paper on Easter Sunday, would you please consider an earlier printing time so the carriers can get the papers out earlier? Perhaps even late Saturday? This will enable them to attend sunrise services. The current business as usual routine always prevents them from attending."

"Hello, Mail Call. I was just sitting here reading my Bible and thinking of what a wonderful world this could be if we would all be more Christ-like; if we would try to follow in His footsteps, if we'd reach out with compassion and love, forgive each other and try to live together in peace. We could make a big change in our world and it could be done. All we have to do is pray. Pray and keep communications with God."

"Hello. Almost a year ago, in The Herald-Mail, on the back page on those advertisement squares, there was a listing for a Miss Anna, a psychic from Pennsylvania. I need that number. If anybody knows that number, would they call in please?"
