A Washington County man died Tuesday afternoon after an accident in which his pickup truck went into a creek near Roxbury Road and Alternate U.S. 40 on Tuesday morning.

Brian Thomas Hull, 30, of Garis Shop Road, was traveling west on Roxbury Road when the accident took around 5:05 a.m., according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

His 1992 pickup truck left the road, overturned and went in a creek that runs parallel to Roxbury Road.

Hull was trapped in his truck when fire and rescue personnel arrived.

He was taken to Washington County Hospital where he was in intensive care for several hours.

He was pronounced dead at around 4 p.m., according to hospital spokeswoman Sonja Hoover.

Exact cause of death was not immediately determined, she said.

Boonsboro firefighter Curt Fales said he had been friends with Hull for several years.

"He's a good guy. A regular kind of fellow," he said.

He said they enjoyed watching NASCAR races together.

"He was a casual type of guy, with a good sense of humor," he said.
