Thelma L. McKee

HANCOCK - Thelma L. McKee, 77, of Weller Road, Hancock, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born April 13, 1921, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ora W. and Mattie Winters Douglas.

She was a self-employed farmer.

She was a member of Damascus Christian Church, Big Cove Tannery, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, J. Austin McKee Jr., whom she married in 1950; one son, Austin D. McKee III of Hancock; one sister, Lucille Weller of Hancock; four brothers, Marvin Douglas and Bruce Douglas, both of Hancock, W. Eugene Douglas of Big Cove Tannery, and Marlin Douglas of Fayetteville, Pa.; one granddaughter, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Shawn McKee; and a brother, Melvin Douglas.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Damascus Christian Church. The Rev. Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining Damascus Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and at the church Thursday at 10 a.m. The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Damascus Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 374, Hancock, MD 21750; or to Hancock Rescue Squad Inc., 14734 Warfordsburg Road, Hancock, MD 21750.

Kenneth W. Files Sr.

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Kenneth W. Files Sr., 45, of Falling Waters, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at his home.

Born Oct. 21, 1953, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of Jeannine Lord Files Mongold of Martinsburg and the late Wayne C. Files.

He attended Johnsontown United Brethren Church.

He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Janet McDonald Files; two daughters, Susan Shepherd and Cindy Files, both of Falling Waters; two sons, Kenneth E. Files Jr. of Falling Waters, and Eric Files of Martinsburg; five sisters, Connie Hite, Jackie Butts and Tammy Shamburg, all of Martinsburg, and Belinda Silver and Marie Files, both of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four brothers, Michael Files of Martinsburg, Lyle Files of Falling Waters, Dennis Files of Montana, and Charles Files of Hedgesville; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Files; and one brother, Timmy Files.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary A. Gaumond

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Mary Arlene Gaumond, 80, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Winchester Grade Road, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Glenn G. Stevens Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church today.

Josephine J. Barnhill

FALLSTON, Md. - Josephine Jane Eccard Barnhill, of Fallston, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999.

Born in Mount Lena, she was the daughter of the late Claude G. and Bernice S. Eccard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Barnhill.

She is survived by five sisters, Eleanora Eccard Poffenberger of Sharpsburg, Charlotte Eccard Kendall of Bel Air, Md., Erlene Eccard Fogus of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Geraldine Ruth Eccard of Baltimore, and Betty Eccard Davis of White Hall, Md.; one brother, Nathan Claude Eccard of Fayetteville, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Eccard Price; and three brothers, Nona Eccard, David Eccard, and Robert Eccard.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 25, at Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore County.

Ruth E. Harbaugh

SHARPSBURG - Ruth Elizabeth Harbaugh, 84, of 207 South Hall, Sharpsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 27, 1914, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Beulah M. Hammersla Dorsey.

She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church.

She was a member of Wacahu Grange.

She is survived by her husband, John Harbaugh; one sister, Ethel L. Baker of Sharpsburg; one brother, William E. Dorsey of Boonsboro, and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown
