Anniversary Announcements

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd C. Eyler Jr. of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Feb. 26, 1999.

Family and friends joined them at a surprise reception given by their children, Dave Eyler of Williamsport and Krista YaVulla of Virginia.

The Eylers were married February 26, 1949, in Hagerstown by the Rev. James Alt.

Mrs. Eyler is the daughter of Ralph Faulder of Hagerstown and the late Mary Faulder. She is retired from Washington County Board of Education.

Mr. Eyler is the son of the late Lloyd C. and Mabel Eyler. He is retired from Western Maryland Railroad.

Charles and Janet Mills of Pectonville were honored Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at a surprise reception celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.


The event was hosted by their son Philip Mills of Clear Spring, son Chuck and wife Cathy Mills of Clear Spring, and granddaughter and her husband, Katie and Floyd Jenkins of Hagerstown.

The dinner and dance were attended by 65 relatives and friends, including the couple's three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Millses were married Dec. 24, 1948, at Hancock Methodist Church by the Rev. Byron H. Keesecker.

Mrs. Mills is the former Janet Vanorsdale, daughter of the late Harry and Emma Vanorsdale.

Mr. Mills is the son of the late Garret and Sally Mills. He is retired from Fort Frederick State Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford H. Myers of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a dinner Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Richardson's Restaurant in Hagerstown.

The celebration was hosted by their children, Linda Myers Knode, H. Eugene Myers, Carolyn Myers Matthews and Judy Myers Lafferty, and their spouses. Other family members also participated in honoring the couple during a presentation titled "Journey of Love."

Mary Virginia Mowbray and Clifford Harold Myers were united in marriage Jan. 15, 1949, at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Scott Wagner. They are longtime members of Hagerstown Church of God.

Mrs. Myers was formerly employed by Washington County Hospital and also was a full-time homemaker. Mr. Myers is retired after many years of service with Independent Cement Corp. in Hagerstown.

Mr. and Mrs. Myers have six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The family gave them a trip to Hawaii in honor of their golden anniversary.
