CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Gettysburg, Pa., man was charged with fleeing and eluding police and a number of other offenses after a pursuit Thursday night with Pennsylvania State Police.

Otis J. Woolbright, 23, was released on $20,000 bond Saturday, according to a Franklin County Prison spokeswoman.

State police said he had been arraigned before District Justice Gary Carter on charges that included carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, carrying a loaded weapon in a vehicle, recklessly endangering other people, driving without lights to avoid identification, driving under the influence of marijuana and numerous traffic violations.

At about 11 p.m. Thursday a trooper tried to stop a vehicle on U.S. 30 west of Chambersburg in Hamilton Township for driving with high beams on and illegally tinted windows. The report said the pursuit continued onto Frank Road, Pa. 995, Jack Mill Road, Jack Road and east onto U.S. 30 again.

Police said the driver voluntarily stopped at a police roadblock on U.S. 30 at the Hade Road intersection.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Borough police have charged a Chambersburg woman with Christmas Day thefts at two homes.

Gina Cardwell, of 4561 Holly Drive, Chambersburg, was charged with a theft at the home of Calvin E. Keefer, 201 Butternut Lane, in which cash was stolen from a pair of pants and a kitchen drawer. A watch was also taken from the kitchen table in the theft, which the report said happened around 3 a.m.

Police also said a wallet and camera were stolen from the home of Helen R. Leberknight, 476 E. Queen St. That theft occurred between 6 and 7:15 a.m. "while the victim was not looking," according to the report.
