Barbara L. Edwards

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Barbara Lee Edwards, 64, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born March 16, 1934, in Tomahawk, W.Va., she was the daughter of Mary Bruce Canby Stuckey of Hedgesville, and the late Jesse L. Stuckey.

She was a member of Hedgesville United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Hedgesville High School Alumni Association.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James L. Edwards; one daughter, Michele Golden-Ballarin of Markham, Va.; four sons, James A. Hyatt, Bruce J. Hyatt, Robert G. Edwards and James F. Edwards, all of Hedgesville; two sisters, Sandra Ruby of Hedgesville and Mary Ann Butler of Mintook, Ill.; one brother, Bruce Lon Stuckey; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hedgesville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Terri A. Cofiell and the Rev. L. Jack Rudy will officiate. Burial will be in Hedgesville Cemetery, Hedgesville.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Judy L. Spangler

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Judy Lorraine Spangler, 64, of 13879 Mar-Pen Ave., Waynesboro, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.

Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert I. and Treva V. Kraidler Brown.

She was a 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover.

She was self-employed as a proofreader for the last 10 years. Prior to that she was employed by Southwestern School District, Hanover, and at Doubleday Books, Hanover, as a perforator and proofreader.

She was a former member of Whirley Birds Square Dancing Club of Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Everett R. Spangler, whom she married in 1953; one daughter, Jody A. Boardman of Chambersburg; one son, Michael R. Spangler of Silvis, Ill.; two sisters, Genevieve Smith of Hanover and Tammy Devena of York, Pa.; two brothers, Robert L. Brown of Spring Grove, Pa., and James A. Brown of Littlestown, Pa.; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Cindy Brown.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Emmanual United Church of Christ, 124 Broadway St., Hanover. The Rev. Terry Wible and the Rev. Kenneth Heasley will officiate. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Garden, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 225 East King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Beulah A. Crees

QUINCY, Pa. - Beulah A. Crees, 85, of Quincy United Methodist Home, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1999.

Born Feb. 7, 1913, in Halifax, Pa, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Jane Reitenbach Twigg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Robert D. Crees, who died in 1986.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church, Waynesboro, where she taught the ladies' Philathea Bible Class for many years. As a pastor's wife she was active in serving congregations of Grace Brethren Fellowship in Pennsylvania, California, Ohio and Indiana.

She was a member of Joy W.M.C., Missions Commissions, Keenages Club and Waynesboro Garden Club. She also worked with children in Missionary Helpers Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Rosemary Stiffler of Indiana, Pa.; Dorothy Rough of Johnstown, Pa.; Roberta Devin of Waynesboro, and Virginia Plaster of Winona Lake, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and one grandson.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro. The Rev. Roger Myers, Dr. David Plaster, and the Rev. Don Rough will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro PA 17268 or Grace Theological Seminary, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake, IN 46590.

Bessie L. Duffey

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Bessie Louise Duffey, 87, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly a resident of Trinity House, 25 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in the nursing home. She was the first resident of Trinity House in 1982.

Born April 21, 1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nellie M. Marotte Tritle.

She was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill for 32 years as a supervisor and was a babysitter for a number of years.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro.
