The Princes

Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Prince of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a 30-day tour and cruise of Spain, Gibraltar, Lisbon, Paris, Rotterdam, London and Ireland, then cruising Transatlantic to Bermuda and New York City, followed by a two month trip to Florida.

The Princes were married Jan. 1, 1949, at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in Washington, D.C., by the Rev. H. Luther Rhoads.

Mrs. Prince is the former Joan C. Distin, daughter of the late Milton A. and Ethel B. Distin. She was employed by the U.S. government during the early years of her marriage and has been an Avon representative for 29 years.

Mr. Prince is the son of the late Clarice Passko and William J. Prince. He retired from The Herald-Mail Co., circulation department, in 1991 and previously worked at several Washington, D.C. newspapers.

They had four children, Steven A. Prince of Mount Airy, Md., Susan L. Prince of Easton, Md., David B. Prince of Hagerstown and the late Richard E. Prince. They have four grandsons.

The Myers

Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Myers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at a dinner at B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 378 on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.

The event was hosted by their sons, Douglas Myers of Haymarket, Va., and Phillip Myers of Manassas, Va., and their spouses. Friends and family attended.

The Myers were married Dec. 19, 1948, at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Hagerstown, by the Rev. Norman Trott.

Mrs. Myers is the former Betty Kroeger, daughter of the late Frank J. and Kathryn L. Kroeger. She retired from Hagerstown Bookbinding and Printing Co. after 25 years of service.

Mr. Myers is the son of the late Alton S. and M. Pearl Myers. He was employed with Washington County Hospital for 30 years and retired from Western Maryland Supply Co.

They have one granddaughter and four grandsons.

The Stouffers

Earl H. "Farmer" and Dorothy G. Stouffer were honored Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at a reception at First Christian Church in Hagerstown celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

The event was hosted by their children and their spouses, Shirley and Oz Thompson of Leitersburg; Joyce and Jay W. Stouffer Sr. of Leitersburg; Dennis and Sue Stouffer of Ringgold; and Cindy and Nelson Reeder of Boonsboro. Their grandchildren joined in the celebration. Approximately 200 guests attended.

The Stouffers were married Oct. 20, 1938, in a private service in Kernstown, Va.

Mrs. Stouffer is the daughter of the late Harvey and Esta Houpt.

Mr. Stouffer is the son of the late Charles and Katie Stouffer.
