Health group recruiting members

Alternative/Complementary Health Care of Hagerstown is recruiting members for a networking group.

The group is open to all certified and/or licensed professionals working in acupuncture, massage, nutrition, reflexology or other alternative healing modalities dealing with the mind/body/spirit connection.

Convention, visitors bureau on membership campaign

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau is conducting its membership campaign for 1999.

CVB membership offers a listing in the official tourism Web site, brochure distribution at three visitor centers, discounted advertising rates in CVB publications and programs, free listing in CVB publications including the 1999 Official Visitors Guide to Hagerstown and Washington County.

Deadline for membership is Feb. 19.

Workshops on parenting teens set


An evening of workshops on parenting teenagers will be held at Boonsboro High School on Thursday, Feb. 4, from 7-9 p.m. Snow date is Feb. 11.

Marna McLenden, Howard County State's Attorney will deliver the keynote address.

Among the topics to be discussed are date rape and how to avoid it, recognizing signs of depression and detecting substance abuse.

Parents and other community members are invited.

Millennium celebration plans sought

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking information from Washington County organizations regarding their millennium activities. In addition to New Year's Eve celebrations, information on special exhibits, festivals, parties and other events are welcome.
