Jerry L. Noll Sr.

KINGMAN, Ariz. - Jerry L. Noll Sr., 52, of 2024 Atlantic Ave., and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home.

Born Dec. 25, 1946, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Noll Sr. and Betty J. Rowe Noll.

He was employed as a mechanic for Mack Trucks for 21 years. He worked at the Hagerstown location before being transferred to the Winnsboro, S.C., location in 1990. He retired on disability in July 1998.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 18 months in Vietnam. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Service Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club, both of Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Jill S. Talhelm Noll, whom he married May 29, 1970; two daughters, Jodi L. Noll of Hagerstown and Vivian J. Noll Daddona of Allentown, Pa.; a son, Jerry L. Noll Jr. of Kingman; a sister, Carol Ann Roberts of Waynesboro; six brothers, Raymond A. Noll Jr., Daniel W. Noll and Ralph E. Noll, all of Waynesboro, John I. Noll of Lemasters, Pa., David A. Noll of Mont Alto, Pa., and Paul J. Noll of Rouzerville, Pa.; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Roger K. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to a charity of one's choice.

Lester L. Barb

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Lester L. Barb, 89, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.

He was born Sept. 22, 1909, in Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel R. Barb, in 1987.

He retired after many years of employment with Powhatan Brass and Iron Works in Ranson.

He was a Protestant.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

Robert L. Schaeffer

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert L. "Schaeff" Schaeffer, 50, of 449 Norland Ave., died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at his home.

Born Aug. 16, 1948, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence and Harriet Hoch Schaeffer.

He was a baker at Shippensburg University.

He is survived by his wife, Avis Tolbert Schaeffer; three daughters, Dorothy Harnish of Chambersburg, Anna Coons of Newville, Pa., and Tammy Bingaman of Greencastle, Pa.; four brothers; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Church of God, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. K. Hull Byers will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Church of God, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
