Anniversary announcements

The Knights

Mr. and Mrs. George T. Knight Sr. of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at a surprise party at Funkstown American Legion hosted by their children and their spouses, Lorraine and George T. Knight Jr., Linda and Sidney Leather, Michael and Sherri Knight, Pat Swope and Terry Knight.

The party was attended by family and friends.

The Knights were married Nov. 20, 1948, by the late Rev. William Norment of First Christian Church.

Mrs. Knight is the former Anna May Walling, daughter of the late Josephine E. and Charles H. Walling Sr. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Knight is the son of the Lillian G. Knight of Stoneville, N.C., and the late Robert J. Knight Sr. He is retired from Mack Trucks in Hagerstown.

They have five children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

The Limburgs

George "Pete" and Violet Limburg of Hagerstown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, with friends and family at an affair at hosted by their three children, Pete Limburg of Warrenton, Va., Donna Jean Faunce of West Chester, Pa., and Brenda Passiales of Wheaton, Ill.

The Limburgs were married Oct. 21, 1938.

Mrs. Limburg is retired from Washington County Department of Social Services.

Mr. Limburg retired from Pangborn Corp. after 43 years of service.

They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Limburgs have lived in Hagerstown all their lives.
