Irma E. Campbell

Irma Ella Campbell, 80, of 18420 Woodside Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Garland E. Getts

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Garland E. Getts, 73, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at City Hospital.

Born Nov. 6, 1925, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Ellsworth J. and Isabelle Amelia Poole Getts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vallie M. Getts.

He was retired from T.H. Compton and formerly worked in the motor pool shop at the V.A. Center and with O'Boyle Tank Lines.

He attended Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church.

He was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of Berkeley Post 14, American Legion.

He is survived by two stepdaughters, Betty Longerbeam of Berryville, Va., and Charlotte Frye of Ridgeley, W.Va.; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one stepson, Charles Watson Jr., and one brother, Ernest E. Getts.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald B. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside military services will be by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

Golie D. Gano

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Golie Davis Gano, 90, of Shepherdstown, died Jan. 16, 1999, at Canterbury of Shepherdstown.

Born Jan. 13, 1909, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John G. and Mary Ann Crim Gano.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Virginia McKee Gano.

He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of New Street United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown.

He is survived by one daughter, Louise Long of Shepherdstown; three sisters, Cora Small, Lillie Johnson and Mazie Lickey; two brothers, Robert Gano and W. Edward Gano Sr.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Wendy Shullenbarger and the Rev. Keith W. Keidel will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Oliver G. Fahnestock

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Oliver G. Fahnestock, 80, a resident at ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 827 South Fourth Street, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at ManorCare.

Born Jan. 10, 1910, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Edward and Carrie Fennell Fahnestock.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Jones Fahnestock, who died in 1996.

He was retired from the former Chambersburg Light Plant after 26 years. He and his brother owned and operated the former Fahnestock Bros. Paint and Music Store, Chambersburg, for 16 years. He was also employed with Coachman's Bus Lines, Chambersburg, as a manager.

He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Chambersburg, where he served in various capacities, including Sunday School teacher, deacon and CA Youth Leader.

He was a member of Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club; life member of Cumberland Valley Fire and Hose Company; Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Bugle Corps, and Chambersburg YMCA. He was an accomplished musician and played in several local bands, performing at the former Rosedale Theater in Chambersburg.

He is survived by one daughter, Shirley May Fahnestock Shoop of Chambersburg; one son, Jonathan Leroy Fahnestock of Petersburg, Tenn.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Roberts, and two brothers, Harold Fahnestock and Raymond Fahnestock.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Elmer T. Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

James R. Cody

MIDDLETOWN, Md. - James Robert Cody, 72, of 9011 Hollow Road, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at his home.

Born July 20, 1926, in Great Falls, S.C., he was the son of the late William Franklin and Arimey Wilson Cody.

He was a retired self-employed carpenter.

He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in World War II in the European Theater.

He was a member of Old Primitive Baptist Church in Virginia.
