The Woodwards

Howard and Charlotte Woodward, formerly of Myersville, Md., and now living in New Bern, N.C., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998.

A surprise celebration was held at Hampton Inn Hotel in Hagerstown on Sunday, Nov. 29, by their son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Janine Woodward.

The Zombros

Stanley and Eleanor Zombro, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at a surprise party given by friends and neighbors at the home of Joe and Sandy Kitchen.

The Zombros were married Nov. 3, 1948, in Charles Town, W.Va., by the Rev. B.I. Barnes.

Mrs. Zombro is the former Eleanor Walker, daughter of the late Warren M. and Elizabeth Walker. She is retired from Fairfax County Police Department.

Mr. Zombro is the son of the late Stanley W. and Minnie L. Zombro. He is retired from Corman Construction Co.

They celebrated by spending a week with their daughter and son-in-law in Kitty Hawk, N.C.

The Bohmans

Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Bohman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Dec. 18, to Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, W.Va. Joining them were their three sons, Bill, Jeff and John; their spouses, Gwen, Karen and Holly; and their four grandchildren. The families came from Atlanta, Ga., Montgomery, Ala., and Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The Bohmans were married Dec. 11, 1948, at Chevy Chase Methodist Church in Chevy Chase, Md., by the late Rev. Clifford Homer Richmond.

Mrs. Bohman, the former Joanne McBride, is the daughter of Florence P. Skene of Hagerstown and the late Forest Braddock McBride and stepdaughter of the late William Hearst Skene.

Mr. Bohman is the son of the late O.P. and Mabel Pyles Bohman. He retired in 1978 from O. P. Bohman Inc., servicing tires, oil and batteries. The Bohmans owned and operated Bohman Realty Inc. from 1979 until their retirement in 1993.

The Tedricks

Cornell and Genevieve Tedrick of Hagerstown were honored Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at a reception celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Deborah Tedrick Hall and Ray Hall of Willards, Md., and Denny and Debbie Tedrick of Clear Spring. Their four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren joined in the celebration. Approximately 130 guests attended.

The Tedricks were married Nov. 13, 1948, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Big Pool.

Mrs. Tedrick is the daughter of the late Samuel Victor and Nancy Kline Shaw of Big Pool.

Mr. Tedrick is the son of the late Howard Irvin and Lillian Gearhart Tedrick of Big Pool.

The Hykes

Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Hykes of Tavares, Fla., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, with family and friends at a surprise reception at Summit Chase Clubhouse given by their children, Diane Wetherington of Apopka, Fla., Barbara Carlson of Chatsworth, Ga., and Michael Hykes of Orlando, Fla.

The Hykes were married Dec. 23, 1948, at Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Hykes is the former Mary Louise Orr. She is retired from National Controls Inc. in Orlando, where she was employed as personnel manager.

Mr. Hykes is retired from Equifax Inc. in Orlando, where he was a manager.

They have six grandchildren.

The Martins

Mr. and Mrs. John E. "Ned" Martin of Hancock celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at a family luncheon at Nicholas' Restaurant. The event was attended by their son and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Martin of Smithsburg, three grandchildren and their spouses and one great-granddaughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin were married Nov. 13, 1938, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown by the late Rev. J. Edward Harms.

Mrs. Martin is the daughter of the late D. Fred and Beulah C. Cline.

Mr. Martin is the son of the late John A. and Lettie J. Martin. He is retired from Potomac Edison Co.

The Clarks

Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Clark celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at a surprise dinner party at Mercersburg Moose Lodge in Mercersburg, Pa., hosted by their daughters, Bonnie Forsyth of Clear Spring and Sue Pine of Mercersburg.

The party was attended by more than 100 friends and relatives.

The Clarks were married Aug. 30, 1948 in Winchester, Va., by the Rev. Roy Schmucker.

Mrs. Clark is the former Rita Faith, daughter of the late James and Nellie Faith. She was employed by C.M. Offray for 32 years.

Mr. Clark is the son of the late Jesse and Nora Clark. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Western Maryland Railroad after 42 years of service.

The Clarks have two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
