Mallory appointed to preservation commission

December 24, 1998

The Hagerstown City Council unanimously approved Tuesday the appointment of Mary S. Mallery of Hagerstown to the city's Preservation Design District Commission.

Mallery replaces Linda McCollum who resigned from the commission. Mallery will serve at least the final six months of McCollum's term, which was set to expire June 30.

At that time Mallery could be reappointed for a five-year term.

The nine-member volunteer commission meets twice a month. Only seven of the members vote.

The commission reviews building permit applications for structures within one of Hagerstown's four preservation districts.
