Walter L. Olsen

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Walter Louis "Red" Olsen, 75, of Fox Glen, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Feb. 23, 1923, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Louis and May Hendry Olsen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Estella Rose Liller Olsen, in 1991.

He was formerly employed as a supervisor of City Works for the City of Rockville, Md.

He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

He was of Methodist faith.

He was a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, Charles Town, W.Va., VFW Memorial Post 3522, Charles Town.

He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Rose Trigger of Mount Airy, Md.; three sisters, May Myers of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Elenor Kiszkael and Veronica McKennan, both of New Jersey; a niece; and two great-nieces.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Steven White will officiate. Burial will be private.

There will be no visitation.
