Farmers and hunters are feeding the hungry

December 22, 1998

Though thousands of deer shot during hunting seasons and by farmers and landowners on crop and property damage permits will be available to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, the costs of processing the meat present an obstacle to feeding the state's less fortunate.

The average cost of processing a deer is $35, which is paid to meat processors from the Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry account. All donations to this cause will be greatly appreciated.

Please make all financial donations payable to: Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, c/o Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, Md., 21740.
