Eight arrested in drunken driving holiday crackdown
Eight motorists were charged with drunken driving overnight Friday as part of holiday crackdown on drunken driving, according to Maryland State Police.
Statewide, troopers wrote nearly 2,000 citations and warnings, arrested 82 drivers and made 30 criminal arrests as part of Operation Holiday Cheer II.
Two hundred extra troopers across the state worked from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday to conduct the "saturation patrols," police said.
