MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 17-year-old Martinsburg boy was charged with shooting a man in the foot Saturday night at a fast-food restaurant, police said.
Martinsburg City Police said Shaye Michael Palmer, 26, of Martinsburg was shot in the foot shortly before 11 p.m. at the Hardee's Restaurant on the 1000 block of Foxcroft Avenue.
The shooting was one day after Jose "Joey" DeLoa, 16, of Martinsburg was killed by multiple gunshot wounds in a Friday night shooting on South Rosemont Avenue in Martinsburg.
Police said a security officer at Hoyt's Cinema called police about 10 minutes after the shooting when he saw a suspicious boy enter the cinema's lobby. A Berkeley County Sheriff's Department deputy checked the boy and found him carrying a loaded 9 mm handgun, police said.
