CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Viewing for C. Richard Main, 82, of 2670 St. Paul St., who died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.

Roy T. Hoover

WILLIAMSPORT - Roy T. Hoover, 77, of 16830 Virginia Ave., who died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, is survived by a son, Kevin Hoover of Hagerstown.

Blanche H. Lindsay

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Blanche Helen Lindsay, 82, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.


Born June 2, 1916, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Helen Grant.

She had been a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. She was a member for many years of St. Helena Catholic Church in Blue Belle, Pa., where she was a member of the Sodality.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, L. David Lindsay; a daughter, Carolyn Thorman of Berkeley Springs; a niece; and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wancheck; and a brother, Dr. John Grant.

A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 116 S. Washington St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will be celebrant. Burial will be in Union Chapel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs.

Charles E. Whipp Sr.

WILLIAMSPORT - Charles E. Whipp Sr., 72, of Williamsport, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at his home.

Born July 22, 1926, in Tilghmanton, Md., he was the son of the late James Wesley and Mamie Amanda Catherine Brown Whipp.

He was employed as a correctional officer for MCTC for 23 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Medairy Lodge 140 AF & AM, Williamsport; a life member of Williamsport Ambulance Service; and Williamsport Volunteer Fire Co. Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis E. Whittington Whipp of Williamsport; a daughter, Beth E. Smith of Mount Airy, Md.; a son, Charles E. Whipp Jr. of St. Marys, Ga.; three sisters, Catherine Six, Anna Martz and Naomi Judd, all of Hagerstown; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald J. Whipp; two sisters, Mary Ambrose and Alice Thompson; and four brothers, Clarence, Roy, Ray and Earl Whipp.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Albert L. Leaf Memorial Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open Tuesday after 9 a.m. There will be a Masonic memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday by Medairy Lodge 140.

Patrick D. McCauley

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Patrick Daniel McCauley, 17, of Willowbrooke, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va.

Born Feb. 28, 1981, in Fairfax, he was the son of Patrick Lloyd and Marjorie A. Mele McCauley of Charles Town.

He was a 1997 graduate of Mountaineer Challenge Academy, Kingwood, W.Va.

He was employed with ICT Co. in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was a Christian.

Surviving in addition to his parents are paternal grandmother, Margaret Plisko of Kearneysville, W.Va.; maternal grandmother, Shirley Mele of Nathalie, Va.; and a sister, Kristy Hedgespeth of Charles Town.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Pastor Glenn Dumire will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
