Frances M. McDonald

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Frances M. McDonald, 77, of 229 S. Washington St., died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at her home.

Born Dec. 29, 1920, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry Raymond and Daisy Viola Coldsmith Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmers J. "Chum" McDonald, in 1977.

She had worked in her earlier life at GEM Garment Co.; and ASBA Garment Manufacturing, both formerly of Greencastle.

She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Etter of State Line, Pa.; four sisters, Irene Barbuzanes and Mary Tosten, both of Greencastle, Betty Myers of State Line, and Doris Statler of Chambersburg; two brothers, Robert H. Miller and Joseph Miller, both of Greencastle; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.


She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph McDonald in 1939; and a brother, Harry J. Miller, in 1982.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Martha A. Hansrote

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Martha Ann Hansrote, 65, of Washington, D.C., died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Washington Hospital Center.

Born Sept. 8, 1933, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Reba B. Hollar Murphy.

She was a member of United Church of Christ, Christ Reformed Church.

She was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Reba Myers of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; a son, Michael Murphy of Copperas Cove, Texas; three sisters, Betty Anderson, Alice Walburn and Norma Voorhees, all of Martinsburg; three brothers, William W. Murphy of New Castle, Del., Charles Murphy of Martinsburg and Harry Murphy of Margate, Fla.; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Whitacre and Mary Hess; and a brother, Edward Murphy Jr.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Dr. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marcella J. C. Sutton

ACCOKEEK, Md. - Marcell Jane Catherine Sutton, 76, of Accokeek, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Civista Hospital, La Plata, Md.

Born in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Dean Carmel and Jua-Nita Bogges Roberts.

She attended Lima Central High School in Lima, Ohio, where she won the state tennis tournament in her sophomore year.

She worked at various local factories during World War II.

She was of the Presbyterian faith.

She volunteered to help handicapped children while living in the Philippines; served as a substitute teacher for the local school district; and volunteered with the Meals-on-Wheels Program and the Red Cross.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Thomas Sutton; six children, Timothy Dean Sutton of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Sandra Jayne Garratt of Greenbelt, Md., Thomas Wayne Sutton of Alexandria, Ky., David Lee Sutton of Wilmington, N.C., Paul Dent Sutton of Freeland, Md., and Richard Scott Sutton of Greencastle, Pa.; a sister, Patricia Ann McCrary of Davenport, Fla.; a brother, Guy Roger Roberts of Claremont, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Christine Chapel Cemetery of Conant, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Arrangements are by Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, Md.

Thomas H. Eubanks III

HERNDON, Va. - Thomas H. "Todd" Eubanks III, 28, of 1700 Whitewood Lane, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident that also claimed the life of his wife, Stephanie L. Davis Eubanks, on Route 15 near Herndon.

Born Aug. 3, 1970, in Atlanta, Ga., he was the son of Thomas H. and Mary A. Abendroth Eubanks Jr. of Plano, Texas.

He was a graduate of Duke University.

He was employed with Seneca Support Technologies of Vienna, Va.

He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church of Plano.

He was a member of Chi Psi Fraternity.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Michael A. Eubanks of Palo Alto, Calif. and Brian C. Eubanks of Atlanta.

A joint service for him and his wife will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Reformed Church in Maugansville. The Rev. Sharon L. Forbes, the Rev. D. Stuart Dunnan and the Rev. C. Robert Hasley will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
