Police log for Sunday, Nov. 29

BRUNSWICK, Md. - A Middletown, Md., woman was seriously hurt in a motorcycle accident Saturday at the intersection of Md. 17 and U.S. 340, Maryland State Police said.

Jacqueline Ohler, 40, was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where she was in critical condition Saturday night.

Ohler was a passenger on a 1977 Harley Davidson motorcycle that collided with a Honda Prelude shortly after 1 p.m., police said.

The driver of the motorcycle, Gary Hamilton, 37, of Frederick, Md., was taken to Washington County Hospital, where he was in fair condition.

The driver of the car, Linda Lewis, 55, of Knoxville, Md., was northbound on Md. 17 and was turning left to enter U.S. 340 when the accident occurred, police said.

Lewis told police she did not see the motorcycle, which was southbound on Md. 17.

Both Hamilton and Ohler were thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

No charges were filed against Lewis, police said.




A small safe was recovered Saturday from a break-in at the Short Stop Tavern, according to the Hagerstown Police Department.

The burglary was reported Saturday morning, said Hagerstown Police Sgt. Carvel Wright.

The safe was found behind the Baltimore Street Station Car Wash on Baltimore Street, within a few hundred feet of the tavern, at 17 W. Antietam St., he said.




A Chambersburg, Pa., man was charged with shoplifting at Prime Outlets at Hagerstown on Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Police were called to Music For A Song store after a shoplifting sensor went off. Police said they found a compact disc hidden inside the suspect's pants.

Todd Brandon Landaker, 18, was charged with one count of theft less than $300, police said.




Someone damaged the window of a 1980 Ford F-100 while it was parked at Ryder Truck Rental, 12 E. Oak Ridge Drive, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

The damage, estimated at $50, occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.




CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the owner of a man's wallet found at Highland Drive in North Guilford Hills, Guilford Township.

The owner may claim the wallet by identifying it to police at the Chambersburg barracks.




McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Three McConnellsburg, Pa., men were cited for disorderly conduct early Saturday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The incident happened shortly before 3:30 a.m. at Cardinal Glen Apartments in Ayr Township, according to police.

Cited were Matthew John Kelly, 23; Richard Michael Barnett, 25; and Earnest Pat Mayberry, 27, police said.




CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Christmas lights hung in the trees around a Guilford Township home were damaged by unknown vandals some time early Saturday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The damaged lights were valued at $16, according to police.

The lights belonged to Mark Richard Stadler, of 1934 St. John's Drive, police said.
