MIDDLETOWN, Md. - A 16-year-old boy was charged with attempted murder Wednesday after another boy was assaulted with a razor-sharp, sickle-like martial arts weapon, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Jeffrey Mount was charged with several offenses after he allegedly attacked Robbie Glover with a weapon called a Kama at Glover's home on the 4800 block of Serpentine Road in Middletown, according to a sheriff's office release.

Police said the attacker forced his way into Glover's residence around 5 p.m. Wednesday and assaulted him. Mount was arrested by sheriff's deputies shortly after the attack, police said.

Both Mount and Glover were taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released, according to police.

Mount was charged as an adult and taken before a district court commissioner, police said.

He was being held without bond Thursday night at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

In addition to the attempted first-degree murder charge, Mount was charged with first- and second-degree assault, first-degree burglary, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property and possession of a deadly weapon with intent.
