Final plans for downtown can be seen

November 27, 1998

CLEAR SPRING - The final plans, drawings and details for the upcoming downtown renovations will be available for public view and comment on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Town Hall.

This will follow the regular monthly town meeting, which begins at 9 a.m., according to Nancy Keefer, town clerk.

Work is expected to begin in April 1999 with plans that include repaving U.S. 40 through town and a portion of Md. 68, adding or repairing sidewalks and planting trees.

Bill Park of the State Highway Administration and his design team will attend the Dec. 1 meeting and will be available to explain or answer questions.

Earlier this year, Park said the work will be done one block at a time, most likely starting at the east end of town.
