Shooting victim recovering

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was recovering from multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday as police continued to look for those responsible for a Tuesday night shooting on the 200 block of Birch Street.

Anthony S. Nimley, 23, of 57 N. Second St., was listed in good condition Wednesday at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Witnesses said he was shot in the neck, arm and leg as he stood on the porch of a house in a subsidized housing complex.

Sgt. Glenn Manns said there were no known motive or suspects in the shooting, which was reported at 9:24 p.m. at 210 Birch St.

Manns said three men were detained and questioned shortly after the shooting, but they were released.

Witnesses said at least six or seven shots were fired. Two witnesses said the shots were fired from a group of three or four men standing in the middle of Birch Street.

Ryan Mills of Chambersburg was visiting next door and said he saw about 10 men arguing outside the house minutes before the shooting.
