Robbery attempt thwarted

An armed-robbery attempt was averted Monday night when a clerk at the AC&T Gas Station on Frederick Street chased the man out of the store, Hagerstown City Police said.

Police weren't notified about the robbery attempt until Tuesday morning. They said they were told that a black man entered the store and pointed a gun at the clerk.

The clerk pushed the man and told him to get out, police said. The robber left without getting any money. No shots were fired.
